Why is an REO property no longer available?Most likely, it’s because the property has been sold (or at least is under contract).There’s a small chance the bank or lender withdrew the property. However, that’s unlikely. Usually, the lender just reduces the price of the property on a regular schedule (for instance, every 6 weeks) until it sells. There’s little advantage to having an REO listed, and then withdrawing it.Call the listing agent and ask. He or she will know, and likely has the authority to tell you.

I spent years on the road as a keyboard player in rock bands like REO Speedwagon, Mother’s Finest, The Supremes, and others. There are really only a few choices on what to do after the gig which I’ve listed below. I can’t actually say I was a “rock star”, but…I was on the road for years, and played some pretty big shows. I have a lot of memories of some pretty crazy times. Here’s one-Like most every other band guy I ever knew, after the show was all about trying to hook up for sex. In the Summer of 1993, in Mother’s Finest, our last gig in the States was at the Atlanta Ballroom, and we were scheduled to fly to London early the next morning to start the European leg of our tour.These two girls both showed up at the Atlanta gig to see me (I had already been with each of them in the last week). The blonde was a radio DJ in Columbia S.C. I had met at the show there a couple nights before, and had invited to come to Atlanta. I kind of liked her. On the other hand, the brunette was a girl I got together with at the show in Myrtle Beach, maybe a week earlier, and I got a subtle impression that she was crazy. Turns out- I was right.In those days, I used to wear a fanny pack that had my wallet, passport and other stuff in it. I would take it off as I was getting ready to step onto the stage, and put it on top of my keyboard amp where I could see it.The show starts and we’re rocking out. I look down and see “Blonde DJ” in the front row. We make eye contact. All is well. Then, I noticed “Crazy Brunette” on the side of the stage, right by my rig. I thought, “WTF is she doing here, and how did she get backstage?”. Probably through one of the roadies. Whatever. Time to play the intro to “Baby Love”, I better not miss my cue.After we finished the show, I came off the stage and “Crazy Brunette” hugged me and ground her hips into me, and asked me if I had plans for the evening. I lied and said that I was tired and just wanted to go back to the hotel. Just then, “Blonde DJ” was there, looking at me- jealously. I quickly told “Crazy Brunette” that I had to go, clipped on my fanny pack, and went over to greet “Blonde DJ”. She and I snagged the last 4 bottles of Heineken from the food tray, and went back to my room at the Wyndham.“Blonde DJ” and I had just started making out and getting into it on the hotel bed, but still had most of our clothes on when… the hotel phone rang. It was the tour manager, saying she was collecting passports. That was standard when we were leaving the country - the tour manager would gather up everybody’s passports so that she could get the whole band and crew through customs more quickly.Annoyed, I went to my fanny pack on the side table and was horrified to discover my passport missing. This quickly became a crisis. It was 2 am and we had to be at the airport at 6 am. If I didn’t have a passport, I wasn’t getting on the plane and I wan’t going to Europe. Needless to say, that took all the “romance” out of the moment. We searched the hotel room, I retraced my steps to the lobby. We even searched in Blonde DJ’s car, a pretty nice Ford Mustang. I talked to the roadies. The tour manager tried to call the promoter, but everybody had left the venue. Nobody had any idea where my passport was.I was truly bummed out. Blonde DJ suggested we “start over”, and could at least have some sex. She even offered to let me come stay at her place, seeing as how I wasn’t going to Europe. None of that was any good as far as I was concerned. I spent the next two hours being absolutely miserable. About 3:30 am, Blonde DJ left.Then, at 4 am, the hotel phone rang again. It was Crazy Brunette, calling from a house phone in the lobby. I asked her how she got my room number. She replied by asking me if I knew where my passport was. Stunned, I had her repeat herself. She said that if I wanted my passport, I could come and get it by meeting her at her car down in the hotel parking lot. I rushed down.I got into the passenger side of Crazy Brunette’s little car, and asked for my passport. She burst into tears and told me how much she loved me and wanted me and couldn’t live another day without me. She was wearing a miniskirt which she raised so I could see… what was underneath.I took a breath, and asked her again for my passport. Crazy Brunette took the passport out of her purse, showed it to me, then begged to “please let me give you something to remember me by”. She started rubbing my crotch, and for a minute I was tempted. But the truth was, I was completely exhausted and in no mood for anything other than just getting to the airport, with my passport, on time.I leaned closer, looked into her eyes, then snatched my passport from her hand. I quickly got out of the car and literally, ran away. I soon gave our tour manager the passport and in the end..the European tour was a success. In fact, there is a YouTube video of me playing with Mother’s Finest- in Holland- at a big outdoor festival that was televised. And you can even see that I am wearing my fanny pack. People have often asked me why I was wearing it on stage, and now you know why!Here’s the YouTube video.OK, back to the original question- here’s the list of what I remember are the choices for what to do after a show.1. Go back to the hotel, either alone or with someone.2. Go to someone else’s place.3. Go to an all-night diner to eat.4. Go to an after-party.5. Go to an after-hours club. (rare, musicians don’t usually)If tour scheduling sucks, and sleep is forbidden, then…6. Get on the tour bus and leave for the next city, or7. Go to the airport and fly to the next city.
