EBay and all its servicesBanned on 24th May '17PreludeI had a few (4pcs actually) unipolar stepper moters lying unused in my project boxI do not have an arduino to make a driver unit, choosing a cost effective way I decided to make a decade counter based driver (unipolar stepper motors do not require complicated circuits due to the nature of their windings).Here us the circuit digramI decided to make my own PCB (printed circuit board) as it would be a fun project to make in this holidayTo those who don't know, I'll attempt to explain in brief (in italics) the process of making a PCB....Making a PCB requires you to take a copper clad glass epoxy board which is to be made.into a circuit board. Next you lay on top of it a photosensetive film called PHOTORESIST FILM (see picture below)then on top of the film place negative image of your circuit design, exposure to UV light cures the uncovered circuit design (UV light causes polymerization in the film). Since the image is negative of the final circuit only the circuit is exposed and cured . Rest of the uncured photoresist is washed away leaving polymer tracks on copper clad glass epoxy board.Later an acid FeCl3 (ferric chloride) is applied. The acid eats away the bare copper and leaves behind the polymer coated copper tracks, which upon further cleaning reveal copper tracks on the board which can now be used as a circuit board.EBay comes into pictureAs you can summarise the photoresist film is an important part of the processIn Mumbai (where I live) electronic part suppliers charge exorbitant rates to sell small quantities of photoresist and we do not have RadioShack kinda stores to buy online reliably …. JUST LIKE THIS DEAL…I proceeded to sign up..Now I use pppoe fiber to home net connection with upload and download speed of 10mbps yet the sign up redirect took a long time to loadEBay has problems accepting user generated usernames and everytime I put in a username it recommends a random number in addition to the user inputThe Pathetic serverFinally after registering with a crappy auto generated username, and adding shipping and billing address I proceeded to checkout ( by this time I've spent an hour on ebay just to checkout)Now after proceding to checkout the web page reloads.....umm it doesn't reload... It just gets stuck...a few minutes later an error message saying connection to server lost appears....Frustrated I leave the site and head to amazon and make a decent purchase of photoresist sheetCLIMAX.Now three days later I get a mail form ebaySaying..Frankly speaking banning a first time user due to their incability process a purchase is pure incompetence on their partAnd calling it an attempt to protect their members of eBay community is crazyWORST ONLINE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EVERAnd oh they didn't even give a reason as to why i am being bannedWell whatever the reason I don't even care.. May you rest in peace protecting your members from honest customers.
