The waiting period for F4 visa is different for different countries. Talking about India, it takes roughly 12–13 years to get a welcome letter and another 1.5 or 2 years to get scheduled for an interview. So in total it takes around 15 years to get F4 visa for Indian nationals.Also note:After your relative (US citizen) files the petition, it takes around 1-5 years to get your petition approved. Then you are called for the biometrics test at the US Embassy, most probably a day before the interview.The interviews are not so tough, you can use your own mother tongue. But after the Trump government came into power, this average waiting time has gone to more than 15 years!!!!My PD was June 2004, got approval in 2009, received welcome letter in 2017 and got the visa in February 2019! Nope, this is not the worst waiting time. After more than one and a half year of getting my visa, families with PD of December 2004 are still waiting for their interview letter!! You can imagine the increasing delay.
