PDF Editor FAQ

How much did you weigh when you joined the military and how was your physique upon completion of boot camp?

Army here.Upon joining the US Army, I had weighed just under 120lbs. I had passed the height and weight requirement by just two pounds. To say that I was skinny would’ve been an understatement! The day I arrived to reception versus my first week into AIT, 10 weeks later.I was certainly stronger after completing basic training, I weighed 160 after basic and lost a very small amount of fat as well. One family day, my entire family walked right past me, as none of them had even recognized me after such a transformation! If you’re looking to get in shape, the military is a good way to do it!

Is it concerning that 17% of all US Armed Forces personnel are classed as obese?

Yes. More soldiers should be obese. This study used the BMI test. It’s supposed to judge you on other than height and weight, but the only 2 things on the chart are height and weight.I had a Troop commander come from a 1/2 marathon where he placed pretty highly. He was severely dehydrated. He did te BMI that night and was found to be borderline obese. My Buddy Carl was massively obese. According to the chart. It wasn’t even close. He is built like a tank. Lotsa muscle, very little fat. He did a full immersion test at a university. Got in a tank of water and they measured how much the water went up. He had 8% of body fat.I had a guy who was a model/dance instructor. 6% body fat. We were late for lunch and he started to drop. The thing about combat arms, is we can’t get civy pants to fit us.If it’s right on the waist, the legs are ripping. Our chests are out of proportion with out torso. My son trained with me for football. He had the same problem. We bought his jacket at an outdoor store, in the women’s section.Army guys don’t fit civy norms. We want the guy to have extra in the tank. If he has to carry a ruck up a hill or do a section attack, we don’t have time to hydrate or drink ‘pre-workout’.We have to carry unrealistic loads, unbelievable distances and we have to get there first. What happens on a recruit course is that guys shed weight for the first week or 2. After 2 months, they are actually heavier. Water weight and fat are shed, muscle is built. These metrics are not based on combat arms. They are based on civilians. To adjust this for soldiers, add another 20 lbs

What does the United States do wrong when it comes to military training?

Only going to answer for the Army here, having different fitness standards for male and female soldiers. It's a massive joke that a female is maxing their score on a PT test and a male soldier is not even passing yet at the same number of repetitions, either you have a standard or you don't. I have known female soldiers who could max the male PT scale but they are the exception not the rule. There should be a general Army PT test that everyone needs to pass and then job specific PT requirements by MOS, can't pass those standards can't be that MOS period. Medic for example need to be able to carry all of their standard issue gear and aid bag up and down the sides of mountains/hills at a patrol pace.Height and weight standards. There is no logical reason that someone who is constantly maxing their PT test should have to get a waiver for height and weight standards. Or even get checked for that matter. Should be only for soldiers who are marginal to begin with. If a soldier is getting 90 or higher in every event then height and weight should be skipped as irrelevant.Might also need different standards for different MOS as well that 120lb 300 PT score stud is absolutely useless when trying to crack tread on a tank (just not enough mass).

I have bought recently PDF Password Remover & PDFelement from CocoDoc (which meets the requirements I need for a PDF software) Which PDFelement I have a problem activating the licence that was solved in less than 24 hours (I got a new key right away) so I am very happy with the support I got from Joanna & Ella.
