Yes, I have been banned from the entire University of Florida (Gainesville Florida) campus for 3 years for writing an “inflammatory Facebook post” on my Facebook blog, “UF Health Shands Hospital Gainesville Florida-Unofficial” about patient dumping at the University of Florida teaching hospital.I had already been forced out of my job at the hospital (for whistle-blowing) where I had been an RN for 25+ years.Two officers from the University of Florida police department actually came to my house (a mile away from the UF campus) and gave me a “trespass notice” which stated I could not come on campus for 3 years except for medical appointments. ( BTW, rumor has it that the UF Police Department got so many search hits on my Trespass Warning that they took down access to ALL the Trespass Warnings. I’ve placed my original screen print of the online Trespass Warning I took back in November 2017 in the Comments on this answer.)Most of the harassment I’ve been targeted with for being a whistle-blower at UF Health has been covert. It was actually nice to have the University’s harassment blatant and out in the open for a change, so that I have proof of it.I believe they were afraid I would come to the hospital as a volunteer to help patients who were being dumped. I met the attorneys at their office and what they *really* wanted was my copy of the UF Trespass Warning that the UF Police Department issued to me (for writing an "inflammatory Facebook post" about patient dumping at UF Health Shands Hospital), plus the warning letter UF Health's attorney sent me regarding my "UF Health Shands Hospital Gainesville Florida-Unofficial" Facebook page.Looks like UF is trying to erase any records of their responses to my posts regarding UF Health's alarming quality issues. (As I mentioned in another post, rumor is, they got so many search clicks on my Trespass Warning that they eliminated the ability to Search for Trespass Warnings on the UF Police Department website. Luckily I took screenshots).Officer McCarthy and Officer Escobar delivered the Trespass notice to me November 9th of last year, and I graciously emailed them both that night with links to my "Inflammatory Facebook Post" with the subject heading of, "Inflammatory Post on Facebook--You Should Read This-It Could Save Your Life or the Life of a Loved One.Interesting that UF is trying to make a grab for my copies of the Trespass Notice & the letter their attorney sent me, after all this time has passed. I'm guessing UF has gotten a significant amount of negative attention since I started posting on Quora about 6 weeks ago (with over 600,000 views of my posts in 6 weeks).Since UF is a state institution, my emails to the UF Police Department officers are public record, as is my Trespass Notice, so why all the interest in my paper copies of the Trespass Notice and the warning letter I received from the UF Health Shands attorney James M. I worked at UF Health, the teaching hospital for the University of Florida, for 25+ years as an RN. While the Health Science Center was located in a particular part of campus and encompassed acres of land and a dozen buildings, employees could work for two different employers.One of the employers was the University of Florida. But because the hospital had “gone private” circa 1980 for reasons too complex to go into, you might work for UF Health Shands Hospital (private employer) or you might work for the University of Florida (state of Florida employer).I was switching jobs from the UF Health Shands employer to the University of Florida employer, which meant I received a pay out for all my unused annual leave from UF Health Shands.After the taxes, the payout was in the neighborhood of $1500.00. But UF Health Shands mistakenly paid me twice—once with a hand-written check, and once with a check generated electronically by the Payroll system.I returned one of the checks to UF Health Shands and explained why I was returning it (double payment), and never thought another thing about it, until….About 5 years later, my name came up on the state Unclaimed Property list that was printed in the newspaper every year. What was my unclaimed property? That extra check for $1500.00 I’d returned!Any unclaimed property reverted to the state of Florida at the end of the year, no matter what the source of the money.I shook my head in disbelief, and claimed the check. It’s things like this that make you wonder which fox is guarding which hen-house. Nobody could figure out what to do with a returned check so they gave it to the State’s Unclaimed Property Department??I remembered one of my nurse friends had been paid double by the hospital one payperiod, at a time when she desperately needed the extra money. I was working as an RN half-time in a child psych unit and prn (“as needed”) on any hospital unit at UF Health Shands Hospital related to kids or moms. One day I was assigned to Labor and Delivery, and as I was leaving for a break I saw a physician standing outside the doors to L & D, talking to a man who was crying.I overheard the physician telling this new father that his newborn baby was born without a brain.The doctor was very cold and uncaring in her attitude toward the father. Just the fact that she was standing in a busy hallway delivering such devastating news (rather than in a grief room that physicians use exactly for these purposes, or at the very least in a quiet waiting room) was unusual in itself.But the way she delivered the information was icy cold. She also mentioned that the baby would likely live for a short time but that all babies born without a brain die in the neonatal period.All while dad (who looked like a working class guy who worked with his hands) was standing there sobbing.I have always wondered—was the mother abusing drugs while she was pregnant? Was this why the doctor was so cold, so unethical? Because she blamed the mother for the baby’s anencephaly? I don’t know, but you never treat another human being like that when they are losing their baby....Edited to add: My controversial posts are edited from feeds.
