Prof Sudhir Jain is currently serving his third term as director of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, which he joined as founder-director in June 2009. He was on the faculty of IIT Kanpur for 35 years from 1984-2019. Dr. Jain is an internationally reputed scholar of earthquake engineering and a passionate academic administrator. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Roorkee, and Masters and Doctoral degrees from the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena. He served as President of the International Association for Earthquake Engineering from 2014-18. He was elected Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering in 2003 and conferred Life Membership by the New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering (NZSEE) in 2013.

This is my interpretation of the movie.Spoiler alertSpoiler alertSpoiler alertSpoiler alertAdam is a history teacher, and a part-time actor. He has a good wife (Helen), and a caring mother. Unfortunately his work has started to bore him, and he wants to find new passion in his life. So he starts fantasizing about acting in movies.He enrolls in a talent agency, and acts in a few B-grade movies. He develops a relationship with a girl (Mary). He buys a new apartment (first dialogue of the movie) and shifts Helen there, and uses his old apartment for his 'activities' with Mary.But this gradually starts to have an effect on his subconscious. He starts feeling the guilt of cheating on his pregnant wife, who is a good person. He gets caught as well (dialogue of 'Are you seeing her?', 'You probably know what is happening' point towards this direction).TO further 'spice up' his life, he gets the membership to a premium erotic club (the first scenes) and takes the apartment's liftman along. It was then for the first time, perhaps, he comes across the tarantula.Now his guilt starts manifesting as a spider (the scary naked woman, probably Mary, with spider's head dream), and his subconscious starts to take over completely.Rest of the movie only depicts his struggle between these two personalities: ADAM who is a teacher, a caring husband ('Do you want something?') and a simpleton, and ANTHONY, the actor both on the screen and off the screen, the cheat, the hedonistic villain, the opportunist, who is the real ENEMY of the movie. We get to know that these two are exactly the same person when it is revealed that even the scar (which was probably due to an injury) is shared between them.The Adam personality refuses to accept Anthony as a part of himself, so it imagines that these two are totally different. However, with a twist: while in real life Adam the teacher lives in the big apartment and Anthony the actor has fun with Mary in the small one, he imagines the other way round: that Adam the teacher continues to live in the old and smelly apartment, whereas Anthony the actor lives in the big apartment. Also, Anthony's dialogue in disgust, 'Do you live in this place?' reinforces that Adam dislikes the small apartment, and it is manifested as Anthony's disgust.The scene where Mary panics after seeing the ring mark would have probably happened also, thus ending the relationship. Probably this would have been the trigger for Anthony to get the membership. However, the guilt has grown to the size of a full-blown tarantula by the close of the movie.Nevertheless, somehow Adam is able to push Mary and Anthony out of his life (symbolized by the car accident). Somehow he is able to reconcile with Helen ('I want you to stay').Here comes the final twist. When he opens the confidential envelop the next day, he finds a key. This is the key to the next session of the 'club'. Immediately, the hedonistic Anthony personality resurfaces: he tells Helen that he is planning to go 'somewhere'. But then, Helen becomes the scared tarantula, once again symbolizing the guilt.All in all, this movie beautifully symbolizes that guilt is like an ever-growing scary spider which haunts and broods the hero.I really hope this explanation makes some sense.

His government have unlawful advice to the Queen, when he wanted to prorogue parliamnent.As the current UK prime minister, Mr Johnson is not a trustworthy source of information.
