Also 15LPA is not a fixed salary, it can be variable pay with 11-12L as fixed and 3L as variable pay.Coming to taxes, out of 15L, let's assume 13L is taxable income and you'll be under 30% tax bracket. You'd be ending up paying >2L in taxes every year. I've made these calculations roughly and without seeing the salary structure we can't say specifically.Considering all this, you may get 8LPA every year, which you already getting right now. (3L to Pesto, 2+ L in Income tax, Pesto administrative/management charges 1-2L).So my suggestion to you is to focus more on your current work, find out the skills in demand, improve your skillsets and move to a good company.

Whether you need to register your business depends on your locality and the specific business.Where I live, it’s easy and cheap to register an LLC. That might protect you from frivolous lawsuits, and as such it’s recommended. But beyond that there are no requirements for being a freelance software engineer. If I were a structural engineer, I’d need to get a license, though.And even though there are a lot of sites out there that will give you templates for freelancing contracts, I strongly recommend that you talk to a lawyer, maybe instead of even bothering with those templates.The reason is that, if you aren’t really familiar with contract law, you won’t have the context you need.
