He asked me some questions from the project report, some other miscellaneous questions which I answered pretty well.But then out of no where came this next question…“How many turns of wire are there in your generator?”For a moment I was dumbstruck. I had no idea about the number of turns in the generator.But then it hit me… Nor does he!So very quickly I said…“248 turns sir. Actually I planned for 250 but then I had to unwind a couple of turns to connect it to the bulb.”He seemed satisfied. I used to work for a CA firm in Mumbai as an internal auditor. I had specific tasks which had to be done on a weekly basis for a banks revenue leakage audit.I had a senior who was always getting chatty with the graduates we hired for the project and also sometimes the banks staff. One day it so happened that I decided to leave early for home since I had Completed my weekly reporting.I took his permission and left, the next day he decides that it would be better if I don't attend the meeting with our CA since we had a lot of pending work.Half an hour Into their meeting with the client and I was called and asked or rather shouted upon for not making the report, apparently he had decided to delete the file from the desktop and get rid of me.Since I knew how the banking system works ,their security of the assets, backup and so on, I decided to stay mum and left the cabin, I immediately called that IT guy and explained him the situation and in no time he got the file recovered (all deleted files are kept in the backup drive for a week atleast) he also got the video footage of the camera which was the closest to my area of work,I simply mailed the entire contents asking my senior not to speak but just read. Turns out the clients head himself was present for the meeting after I left and was praising my report making skills (I mailed the copy to him too, my senior didn't know) my boss called me inside the cabin, terminates my senior and appoints me on his position. it a hike of 50%…Karma Oh karma… So small yet so deadly..!!
