On January 2, 2016, he was arrested at Pyongyang International Airport while awaiting departure from the country. He was convicted of attempting to steal a propaganda poster from his hotel, for which he was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment with hard labor.Shortly after his sentencing in March 2016, Warmbier suffered a severe neurological injury from an unconfirmed cause and fell into a coma, which lasted over a year.North Korean authorities did not disclose his medical condition until June 2017, when they announced he had fallen into a coma as a result of botulism and a sleeping pill. It’s a default “glitch” in the world’s magic. People randomly turn to stone over night and recover sometime later and everyone in the world is used to it.)

Not literally, no. The trial in the Senate is conducted according to very detailed rules, see https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/CDOC-99sdoc33/html/CDOC-99sdoc33.htm, but those rules are subject to modification by the majority of the Senate. The trial is not conducted according to the Federal Rules of Civil/Criminal Procedure, where creatures such as a default judgment exist.If Speaker Pelosi refuses to transmit articles of impeachment to the Senate, I see one of two things happening. Either (1) a trial never takes place (in which case Trump is impeached indefinitely but never formally acquitted or removed) or (2) at some point the Senate deems the articles transmitted (there isn't really a formal process of what counts as transmittal) and holds its trial. But I don't see a default judgment as a likely outcome.
