What did someone do in TSA/airport security that made you say "You gotta be kidding me"?

I flew home just three months after 9/11, and the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) agent at the airport noticed that I was wearing my military dog tags. The agent told me to take off my dog tags and put them in my luggage. Rather than cause a ruckus, I simply asked him why.He said, “You could use them to strangle someone.”?I let it go. I put my dog tags in my luggage. Never mind that dog tags are made of ball chain — designed to break if anyone tries to use it to strangle a soldier. Never mind that the Department of Defense policy likely trumped the (at the time) Department of Transportation policy. Never mind that no planeload of passengers would let itself be taken hostage, again, after 9/11.When I got on the plane, the flight attendants informed us that earphones were located in the seat pockets in front of us, and the jacks were located in the armrests. I pulled out the headphones to find heavy-duty plastic-coated lines quite capable of strangling even a bull-necked son-of-a-bitch.I shook my head, having a good idea of the idiocy we were headed into with the, at the time, brand new Transportation Security Administration.

What is the most disrespectful advice you received from a person who assumed you were less intelligent and made less money than them?

“Get a job.”I was checking out at a grocery store about 15 years ago. I heard the man behind me say just that.At the time, I was going to nursing school full time during the weekdays, and working on the weekends as a CNA. Often pulling 16 hour shifts, Friday through Sunday. I made pretty decent money to provide for myself, owned my own vehicle, paid for everything on my own, etc.As I put my bank card in the machine to pay, I heard a man behind me in line scoffing, laughing, and seemingly trying to get my attention. When I turned my head in his direction, he grumbled, “Get a job.” I was clueless and proceeded walked out with my groceries. While in the parking lot, it dawned on me that he thought I was using a welfare money card. Here in Indiana, they are called EBT cards, “Electronic benefit transfer,” which welfare participants receive uploaded money monthly. My bank card was a similar color to the EBT cards issued around the time. My best friend had one, so I was familiar. (She was a single Mom living in special income based housing).I believe that he assumed I was able bodied person and using government money to cheat the system. I was sure of it.The person that I am, sometimes it takes a while for me to “get” something. Even though I ignored the man in the store (safe practice / strange man) I was furious that he assumed the worst.I didn’t even have bad choices in my grocery cart. That was my mindset.I’ve never been witty with comebacks. Then I realized.Really, it hurt. Obviously this guy was very judgemental and probably carried a chip on his shoulder for whatever reason.Little did he know…I DID have a “job” and was paying from my actual BANK ACCOUNT.After I was over being upset, I found it strange that he was peering so closely to watch me open my wallet and pay. He was about 5–6 feet away from me.Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. I’ll never really know. He misjudged the wrong gal that day.*As a side note, I do not judge others regarding how they live. I was raised on welfare in Mississippi growing up…and I certainly don’t watch what kind of card others use while paying in the store. Thanks for reading. Take care all.

What is a stand you took with your in-laws that you will never apologize for?

Edit: Thank you all for the upvotes and supportive comments. While that portion of my life was happening, I rarely told people of the problem out of sheer embarrassment. My yard looked like a junk yard (many items not mentioned or relevant to the post that belonged to my ex and his business). I was suffocating with stuff around me that never moved and had to be “saved.” You guys are awesome. Thank you again! My ex MIL, Pam, was a hoarder. She wasn’t the type that would save trash. She was the gal that over purchased and saved items to excess, and I mean over the top excess.Imagine having tubs and bins completely full of useless items stacked to the ceiling. It gets better. Here we go.Apparently her mother owned her house, a 3500 sq ft dwelling. I wasn’t aware of this, partially because it wasn’t my business to “know” until it became a nuisance, which I will explain.I bought a house in a rural area, no HOA, and surrounded by corn fields. Then one day my husband mentioned that his Granny sold the house that his mother was living in.She relocated quickly to a 1500 sq ft residence. Where does part of her hoard go? My house. I agreed to keep some of her items, but was not prepared for the extent. She brought at least 40 industrial sized bags of stuffed animals, (her daughter was passed the age of that) to my house. It was stacked to the ceiling in my basement. Then, when she divorced her second husband, it seemed to be a great idea to park a 50 ft camper in my yard. Theplus was the camouflage chair placed in front of the monstrosity of this semi like Winnebago. The point here, she never recollected her stuff in a timely manner. We were collecting her hoard with no end in sight.I complained to my husband to no avail. He had hoarding tendencies too. Then one day, I had had enough.I told my ex that I would legally file for vehicle abandonment. She had 30 days.I also gave her a time restraint to remove her items from my basement. It was stacked to the ceiling. All worked well.My neighbor called the police as they thought we were being robbed with the amount of bullshit being removed, as well as the camper. I had to rectify that she had a large amount of items, and we weren’t being robbed. We never got along after that. We didn’t get along before

Comments from Our Customers

*7/3/18 So yeah sent email like they said in reply below, but no surprise that I never got a response. Just filed a dispute and got my money back from my Citi card. Screw these CocoDoc jokers. Bought CocoDoc MobileTrans in order to try to transfer my texts from Samsung S7 Edge to iPhone 8. It only works halfway- only texts from the other people transfer, not my side of the conversation. I was going to try to get help about it but conveniently their support site gives an error when trying to message them. It errors no matter what browser or day I try it. Worthless. I am not calling an overseas number either. I'll have the CC company dispute and refund it. Also, when I try to look up my order it says the order doesn't exist. I was trying to do good by buying it instead of finding a torrent of it... look how that turned out. *** I sent email as their reply said... 2 days later still have not heard a word from them.
