The "flaws" of logical thinking lie in the assumptions underlying. Some of these are:1. Human cognition has the capacity to process an infinite number of input variables along with their inter-connections and their variations.In reality human cognition has limitations which means that not only are problems to be solved defined in reductionist ways, but the approaches to solving them are similarly picked too. Which means we prioritise and cherry-pick based on our preferences which may not always be rational (could be emotional, ideological, culturally mediated, genetic inclination etc).2. Problem solving follows a linear model i.e. human behaviour has a sense of purpose, and that actors enter a decision situation with known objectives which inform the outcomes of an action; that they gather information, develop alternative actions, select the optimal action of those alternatives.In reality, conflicting objectives may exist and the whole situation may be challenged by threatening environments, uncertainty and external control. Instead of a linear process or paradigm, reality may be more complicated often following paths that cannot always be predicted in advance.Corollary to 2: We always start with a problem and seek its solution.Particularly in organisational contexts - also often seen in policy circles - sometimes solutions are floating around in search of a problem to tack on to. Solutions may also be co-opted into new problems from existing discussions.3. All actors are rational.People may be individually rational but not necessarily collectively so. Their views may not always be ideologically predictable or internally consistent.4. All actors affecting, affected or involved buy in into the objectives.People often have conflicting objectives and ideologies which may lead to conflict. Further, power imbalances come into play which may lead to a range of tactical moves e.g. lobbying, forming of coalitions, withholding agendas, with sometimes the most powerful emerging triumphal.So in my view, the main issue with logical thinking is the "exclusive" mentality that logic precludes all else, and that determinism and choice focus are the only driving forces. It is far more complicated than that. Not admitting the possibility of its inadequacy or at least its incompleteness as an approach is the key flaw of logical thinking.Thanks.

It’s actually somewhat interesting and pretty funny, involving a chicken tax and laziness in it’s purest form.Ford hasn’t had to compete in the world of big trucks for a long time. The F150 sells enough to have impacts on world economies. The impressive statistic is if you take all the sales of F150’s and spread them over a year, Ford sells one of these big trucks every thirty seconds. A lot of that has to do with the death blow that Ford and GM managed to deal to the entire small truck industry in the US. through a bit of lobbying pressure.And now we take a hard right turn and start talking about chickens. See, in the late 1950′s, chicken was still a delicacy in Europe but post-WW2 farm industrialization had led to chicken becoming a mainstay in the American diet. Producers of chicken in the US got the prices so low, shipping it to Europe still resulted in much lower prices then the local farmers were able to sell their chicken at. Eventually, literally half the market in various European nations were filled with American chicken.The dutch argued abroad that America was dumping chicken at a super low price to destroy the farm infrastructure of competitor’s nations. Other countries followed suit and eventually, multiple countries either banned American chicken or put strong trade sanctions or tariffs on all American chicken. France, Belgium, Spain and - important for this story - Germany were the main culprits. America, pushed by lobbyists from various industries but particularly by GM and Ford, decided to respond with tariffs of their own. Brandy Wine, potato startch, dextrin, and small trucks all got a strong tariff, with the goal of hurting each nation with one of those. Potato starch would hurt Belgium-based importers, the Wine targeted France, dextrin was meant to target the Spanish textiles industry, and small trucks were meant to cripple VW, whose Van was sold in the us as a small truck instead of as a passenger vehicle to get around safety regulations.Three of the four there have since been removed, however, there was an entire lobby formed from GM, Ford, Chrysler and (at the time) AMC. All of them spent hundreds of milions of dollars to make it that small trucks from outside of the US had a tariff, as Japanese small trucks had started to dominate the market. They couldn’t compete on quality, and they couldn’t compete with the high MPG, flexible and capable trucks their competitors had created.Other companies couldn’t use the sales from lesser models to bump up their R&D, Ford used this to their advantage and ford stopped developing other models with the same fervor that improvements for the F150 got.Nissan, VW, Isuzu, Toyota, and plenty of others now have a large collection of trucks they don’t sell here anymore or didn’t when they were new. And both Ford and Dodge have, recently, brought in vans developed in Europe that they had to bring in as “passenger” vehicles with benches in order to legally import them and then threw them out when converting them to vans so they could be sold as light trucks without the tax.So why is Ford getting out of making cars? Because why compete when you can just cheat and have someone else hold the other person down while you claim victory?
