So its going to be a long story be patient and i request u to read till the end .When i was in my 12 th i just made it very clear to my mom that i cant go for jee or neet instead i want to become maths professor , i badly need money for improving financial status of my family . Let me tell u my father is useless he had never supported us either financially or mentally , so i thought if i go for general line than i can bring some money to home .Admist all these my physics teacher who didnt take any tuition fees for the whole span of my 2 yrs just made me sit for both jee and neet 2017.She paid fees for me ,i couldnt argue with her and i had to give those exams . I got qualified in jee but the rank was terrible 56 k. Later the neet result came , i got 360 with an all india rank of 89 k . I know at that completely i was ruined . I had no option available for me . My mom cried a lot that day , she make me realise our family condition again , in addition to this my relatives began to tell my mom that one should do something as per his / her capability .This made my mom more sad thinking that she couldnt afford so much money for my studies . I was very sad that day , i couldnt explain that evening was so pathetic for me .Finally i requested my mom to give me just one year to prove myself . I know that we couldnt afford any classroom for my preparation . So i requested her to give me around 12 ,000 so that i could join the dlp course from allen . My mom started thinking for while then she began to arrange money for the course .From the very next day a new journey started for me and my mom and sister . I began to watch many videos on neet preparations , quora , studied differed sites for an effective selfstudy plan .I started my preparation with Class 11 bio , i used to read the ncert first and write everything from each chapter in a separate notebook . Meanwhile i did the form fill up for allen dlp course as it was around august i would get two sets books together . I tried my level best to complete ncert bio for both 11and 12 before getting those books .Then i began to study first physics and then chemistry from the allen modules , went through ncert for chemistry inorganic , organic . I took the help of many youtube videos for several topics , i had no one to solve my doubts expect those videos .I made a separate copy for physics formula and important topics of chemistry . The days went on , but i was in no way to give up . My mom never made me realise any hard ships she went through that year so that i could focuss completely on my studies . I used to study as much as i could as i did not want to keep any stone unturned .It went as it is up to december , than my father (as per his behaviour ) began to quarrel with my mom , it led to major fight of words between my parents , my mom tried to keep me away atleast that year from my family problems , but how could i accept a man did nothing for his siblings questioning his wife about her contribution to the family . You might be thinking thats a silly topic , yes it is but my father could never see us stable for a long period . He would behave properly with us for 4–5 weeks than suddenly his behaviour would change although we tolerated his very poor financial support to our family . Let me tell you he actually never tried to work under anyone due his ego that made the condition and finance of our family very weak , we tolerated those things also but this time it was height of all . The situation remained as it is for 2–3 weeks we didnt talk with each other in this period . It somehow hampered my studies to some extent .But i couldnt stop i went on with my preparatn hoping that cracking the exam can change the situation .From feb i began to revise the stuffs and also began to solve mock papers . Then i bought online test package from allen .As the days began to pass i became tensed , i couldnt score good in any of the mock papers , i hardly crossed 430–440 in those papers . i didnt have anyone to share these problems , i started to question my preparation , but there was no way just what i could do was carried out my preparation as it is . I could not afford any change at the last moment .With some hope i went on with my studies . Finally the day of exam came , i gave my exam but i was not satisfied with my exam at all , i made some silly mistakes in physics and one wrong omr fill up . In the evening , i went through the answer key it came to be 520 , i was not sure about my selection at that time . Official answer key released and i got one more negative and scored reduced to 515 . Though i realised that i can get one govt seat in west bengal , i was not happy with my marks and rank. The result declared i got 515 with an All india rank of 18677 out of 13–14 lakh students. My mom made me realise that whatever i did was solely by my hardwork , she was happy with my result and tried to rejoice me but i was literally expecting some more marks . Finally state list released and i was alloted a govt college in west bengal with an annual fees 9k ( for each sem it was 4.5 k ) that was a very good news for me as the cost could be bearable by us .In this i finally got a govt seat and looking forward to get financially stable and help my mom as soon as possible . I assume that you are talking about the 2nd year, because that is the only one where you have the freedom to choose your courses.I would highly recommend taking courses that are on the non-technical side. The technical courses can be undertaken by a person during his free time. The courses that I am talking about teach you far more than what books can. They can probably never be replicated by a person on their own as they require a good instructor and an interactive classroom setting with peers for effective learning. I will list down some of my favorite courses from the 2nd year and a few that I did not take (get) but were highly recommended by my batchmates.LVMR - Leadership - Vision, Meaning and RealityThis course is brilliant in terms of the interactions that happen in the classroom. The basic setting of the course is that you have around 15 books (novels, some of them being the abrdiged versions of the original) and the entire class is divided into groups with each group being assigned one book. The group has to present a gist of the story and also the key learnings at the beginning of the session, and is then followed by a stimulating discussion over its various elements. The course (during my time) included classics like Don Quixote, Siddhartha, Macbeth etc).Also the examination consisted of reading a new book and answering a couple of questions on it and then expanding an existing story and write its ending. Needless to say, it was the most fun I have had during a compre.MN - Managing NegotiationsThe best part of the course are its in-class activities which involve participants playing out real-life scenarios to test their negotiation skills.It is completely different (and far more difficult) than learning the theory of negotiation. There are things that books cannot teach and the course does a very good job of bringing those out.MC - Managerial CommunicationAgain, a very useful course for future managers. It teaches you how to present effectively to a large audience (and negate the risk of them falling asleep during it), the proper etiquette while communicating (either orally or via written channels like emails) in a corporate setting.Also, it is pretty chilled out.GTA - Game Theory and ApplicationsWas my favorite course in the 2nd year. It was a completely new subject for me and I learnt a lot. The Professor did a very good job of teaching all the theories in the field and also demonstrating most of them through activities.FMPC - Fund Management Project CourseThe one with no classes. This course will have you working alongside start-ups seeking venture funding. It will require you to help the VCs select the best candidates amongst the thousands that apply for funding in the first round. Then you will be required to work with the start ups and help them prepare a business plan and a VC pitch. You will work only a few days a month and will get exposure to many brilliant start up ideas.You will also get to understand the nuances behind getting funding for your idea and making your startup successful.A must take for people who want to be entrepreneurs.CINE - Understanding Creativity, Innovation, Knowledge Networks and EntrepreneurshipThe best course for aspiring entrepreneurs.
