What's a day in the life of a Dropbox Designer like?

A few variables that can dramatically change the answer to this question include where the designer is in the product cycle, the project the designer is working on, whether or not it's the weekend, whether or not it's a federal holiday, how recently the designer purchased his or her shoes and whether or not the designer cares about that kind of thing, and whether or not the designer has enjoyed any of my tweets lately. I could go on, but you get the point, no two days are alike except for the ones that are.Designers generally roll into the office between 8am and 3pm the next day. We spend our days designing, collaborating, working closely with project stakeholders, eating, and eating. How much of any of these things we do on a particular day varies based on much we plan on eating. I'd say I average about 75% to 110% of my time eating.Design at Dropbox is a very collaborative thing, we have a standing (not physically, but sometimes physically) daily meeting where we each show what we're working on to the entire design team. This is awesome. We've been doing it in one form or another for quite some time and it ensures that we're shipping high-quality, consistent work that we're all proud of. Because Dropbox covers a lot of surface area it's extremely interesting and valuable to get regular feedback from your peers working on completely different product areas. Our team is filled with exceptionally talented people that individually and collectively produce outstanding work.Outside of this meeting we spend a lot of time collaborating with engineers, PMs, and chefs in case we get hungry. The entire company is filled with smart (mild understatement), talented people that care deeply about our users and our product. After that we're usually pretty tired so we'll eat something. Then we take a group nap (very work safe, we each have our own permanent nap pod in the nap wing of the office which is adjacent to the sarcasm wing).Slightly more consistently seriously: every day is a little different, but it all adds up to the most rewarding professional experience I've ever had. Philosophically, happy users are our main concern (no ads or anything like that to optimize for), we have a brilliant team that's an honor to work alongside every day, and we get to make an impact at a (rapidly growing) scale that not a lot of other people get to. Design at Dropbox is about crafting simple, beautiful, innovative experiences for millions and millions of loyal, happy current and future users. We're hiring. Dropbox - Jobs

How is it work at L&T for Civil Engineers?

I have many NICMAR friends in L&T. In their words..For engineers getting into L&T directly as freshers. It has a lot to offer. You have to work really hard to meet their standards. There’ll be high work pressures. Most of the freshers (graduates without prior work experience) get into site execution as site engineers. I’m going to be brutally honest here. Your work hours will be anywhere between 12–14 hours a day. (Not only in L&T, any construction giant for that matter). Some students get into fields like design, quality assurance etc. They have comparatively less work timings. Pay and yearly bonuses will be there based on your performance at site.If you get into L&T after techno management courses like Construction Management, Project Management, Real estate/infrastructure management, you’ll usually be given a white collar profile like Planning, IMS, Project coordination, Contracts etc.Pay and yearly bonus will be there. For this, you need to impress your boss at work. Work timings can be hectic.Hope you got some idea.

Which one is better for interior design: Home Lane or Livspace? Are there any other good suggestions apart from these two?

I am not sure about Home Lane but I don’t recommend the Livspace at all. I had very terrible experience with them and I had to chase each and every day to get the work done. They charge you like iPhone and they deliver street phone. They take minimum of 5 yo 6 months to deliver the small project the reason behind they bring all the road side vendors to get the work done, those road side vendors they don't pay attention and quality is terrible so you have to fight with them to get it properly. These companies are backed by the big Venture capitalist so they don’t care about the customer delivery rather than bring new customers which helps them to get an extra funding. My humble request is even if you want to go plz double check with others experience in your region and below,Time lines - If you signed the contract with them don’t make any plans for next 5 months and if you are renting a house keep at lease next 5 months otherwise you won’t have any house. What is the custom work and what is the Modular part, the custom work they will get it done by the street vendors so my recommendation is to get it done by the some body else which saves time and money. The modular part i.e. all the factory made part they will assemble at your home which is good but they don’t install it nicely the alignments doesn't come right.Double check what you will be getting for the module part, you will be surprised at the end most of the stuff is not part the order and the designer will not say any thing he simply say that it’s out of the scope.Double check the ceiling quote, it’s excludes the painting which they don’t mention at the beginning and you need to get an external vendor. When you bring the external vendor these guys chase him out and they don’t co operate. Its organization so have lot of bureaucracy and to put a nail in the wall they will ask you the money i.e each nail will cost you 50 rupees. They are good in the 3D designs but this is not what you will be getting. the designer does the 3D designs with out doing a proper feasibility study. When the project is started the project manger and designer fight each others. They charge you handling fee which is 10% of the total project cost but they keep one site manger at the site who doesn’t know anything at all about the project. All of sudden they stop the work in the middle of the project and they say that it’s due to the payment . They don’t send the payment link nor they don’t prior intimation about the payment.Double check which parts are coming with warranty and which parts doesn’t come.
