Find any product you like and are passionate about.That’s what you need. When you get this business up and running and making 6 figures, your web design clients will respect you and pay you what ever the price you ask because they see your results and they want you to do the same for their business. Do you know what you tell to them? You turn them down. There’s nothing illegal about transferring your money to an offshore account, and millions of people do it every day.If you’re referring to transferring money offshore to avoid paying taxes, that wouldn’t make any sense to do — if the money was earned here, the IRS knows about it because the parties involved with paying it to you will report the payment, and you’re still going to owe taxes on it whether you move it offshore or not.What you’re probably thinking of regarding offshore accounts is when people keep money earned outside of the US there, instead of ever bringing it here to be taxed in the first place. That’s fairly easy to do — it’s easy to hide something no one is looking for.If you were doing business in a foreign country, payments made to that foreign entity have nothing to do with the US. The US has no right to tax foreign companies. So basically what some people might do is form a foreign corporation, and ensure that some volume of transactions happen through that foreign corporation, instead of to you personally or your domestic company.I knew a web designer who did this once about 20 years ago. He set up a web design company in Curaçao, which had (I think) a 2 or 3% flat tax rate at the time. Instead of us paying him directly, payments were always made to his company.When we would file our taxes, we would write off the payment the same as any other company, as a cost for us. From a tax perspective (on our end as the payor) there wasn’t anything particularly suspicious about this — companies often outsource a lot of things to overseas companies.But on his end, since his company wasn’t US-based, the US government wasn’t looking for any taxable income. No one had ever reported paying him anything personally, and his non-US company wasn’t obligated to pay taxes to the US.Technically he should have declared any amounts his foreign company transferred to him as income, and I wouldn’t know whether he did that or not, but it would be fairly easy to hide money from the IRS this way. He could transfer over enough to meet his basic needs, and pay taxes on that, while the majority of the money he earned stayed offshore.From the IRS’ perspective, he would look like an ordinary guy that happens to work for a foreign company. He makes some money, he pays some taxes, and they wouldn’t have any idea that the lion’s share of what he’s really billing is tucked away in a foreign bank account.Thanks for reading.
