What kind of contract do the leads of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette sign?

Most contracts for reality tv are far over-reaching for the sheer effect that it discourages litigation. Since a lot of money goes into shooting and the air dates are so far away, these contracts can sound awful, but they are necessary to keep the secrets that make the shows so watchable. Here are the highlights:Paid $10k for the “exclusive” to keep quiet.Option to appear on other shows, they are guaranteed a feeIf they make it to the final four, they are paid extra. They are explicitly told they are filmed 24/7, they could be embarrassed, edited in a negative light, edited in a manner that is not true for dramatic affect, etc.Highlights Part Two:If they appear on Extra TV as a host, they can be paid $150k per year.ABC hold the “exclusive for two years if they final contestants get married. This means they can’t sell photo deals to People, US Magazine, etc. Also, they will be paid a compensation fee if they get married on TV.They have a non disclosure agreement and can be sued for up to $5 million dollars if they disclose ABC secrets, go on unapproved interviews, etc. etc.If lawsuit goes to arbitration, ABC is guaranteed $250kHere is the main portion of one contract:Below, are portions of the Bachelor/Bachelorette contracts that contestants sign. The original document is 22 pages long and certain clauses of the contract have been highlighted to view. (Caveat: My 100 page reality tv contracts that I was supposed to have all my contestants sign, I edited out the portions that I as talent could never sign. As a producer I would never ask my talent to do anything I wouldn't do. That is not looked upon well by the attorneys that don't like their shackles watered down).“THE BACHELORETTE” RELEASE AND WAIVER, AGREEMENT NOT TO SUE, INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT, AND PARTICIPANT AGREEMENTI ____________________(“I”, “me”) and AND Syndicated Productions, Inc. What do boxing enthusiasts think of the results of the superfight (Marciano v Ali)?

Which results do you mean? the original results, broadcast on Radio? The completely different results released in the US after they changed the entire ending? Or the results released in the rest of the world, which had a third and different ending?Boxing folks think the “multiple ending” computer fight was a made for TV gig that would had no significance at all, except for the interesting fact that Rocky Marciano and Muhammad Ali discovered they were kindred spirits and became fast friends.CREDIT PICTURE PININTERESTThe computer fight was the invention by Murray Woroner in 1967, who had the idea of determining the all-time great heavyweight champion of the world by placing boxing champions of different eras in a series of fantasy fights.Woroner sent out a survey to 250 boxing experts and boxing writers to help determine which heavyweights would be used in what would become a fantasy tournament. Hank Meyer, president and salesman with a one other partner in Systems Programming Services, an independent service firm, was instrumental in arranging the entire affair, and contended at the time that it was his idea.According to certain critics, Woroner and Meyer’s intent was to craft a fantasy which excluded all the black fighters from winning - only there is not one teeny, tiny, miniscule bit of evidence that this is so. Nadda, none, period. Now perhaps racism influenced the historians and writers who filled out the survey, but the originators of the idea, there is no proof at all they had any racist intent whatsoever.Every boxer's records during their prime were entered into - what was at the time a cutting edge - NCR-315 computer. Also their fighting styles, and perceived strengths and weaknesses were converted into mathematical formulas. The NCR-315 with 20K of memory was supplied by Systems Programming Services. The fantasy fights were broadcast on radio worldwide. Even the boxers who were still alive at the time listened to the programs and some of them participated as commentators. The final fight was between Jack Dempsey and Rocky Marciano, with Marciano defeating Dempsey and declared the all-time greatest heavyweight champion by the computer. (Something that pleased Dempsey not one little bit!) Woroner awarded the real Marciano a gold and diamond title belt worth $10,000.This radio result, with Dempsey losing to Marciano, was result #1 from the computer.Muhammad Ali was not amused by being eliminated by Jim Jeffries by the computer, and sued. The lawsuit was settled when Woroner offered to pay Ali - who, in exile and unable to fight, desperately needed money - $10,000 whilst also getting his contractual agreement to be in a filmed version of a fantasy fight in which he would fight Marciano.Ali and Marciano agreed on the condition that they would receive a cut of the film's profits. So in 1969, Rocky filmed the so-called “superfight” with Muhammad Ali, where a computer had projected wins and losses of each great heavyweight. The Rock, retired 15 years and massively overweight, trained like a fiend to get his weight down to where he looked like Rocky instead of Andy Ruiz. His hair gone, Rocky got Muhammad to agree not to knock his toupee. To the astonishment of everyone except Marciano and Ali, a very real friendship was forged outside the ring. Marciano, the quiet and shy white man who served his country in the second world war, and Ali, the brash Black man who refused draft induction, found themselves liking each other quite a bit."Through all the fakery, something is happening between us," Ali wrote in his autobiography, The Greatest: My Own Story. "I feel closer to him than any white fighter in the trade. We talk fighter's talk in the way only friends can, blood talk, nitty-gritty talk. Our work is phony but out friendship has become real."Throughout filming Ali never referred to Marciano as anything other than 'champ'. In his autobiography he wrote: "Rocky was quiet, peaceful, humble, not cocky or boastful" adding that he "deserves his place as one of the greatest of the great heavyweights.”Marciano, meanwhile, called Ali "the fastest man on wheels." Rocky said, in awe, he had never seen a human being as fast as Ali was. Rocky also called Ali “champ,” and the two men spent hours outside the ring talking about boxing, their families and lives, and their philosophy of life.Ali came away impressed with Marciano’s toughness, and his humble, but relentless nature, and power, even after all the time he had been retired. Rocky was “even tougher than Joe Frazier,” Ali would say."But as the fraud came near an end, it was plain that neither of us, both heavyweight champions, liked the idea of being dramatized as defeated by the other – especially in a fake fight – and we were both on edge," admitted Ali. "One afternoon I unleashed a string of lightning-fast jabs that kept coming almost the entire round. Rocky was amazed and said: "I never seen a fighter with hands that fast."The pair parted on excellent terms, with plans to tour the United States together and promote racial harmony. After all, as Ali said, “if a white man from Brockton and a Black kid from Louisville can like each other and find common ground, why not everyone else?”When the computer fight was released in the US, and Rocky won, at first Ali was irate, but then he discovered he had won in the second version of the film. released elsewhere in the world. Thus, computer ending number #2 in the US, and computer ending #3 in the rest of the world.“We both ended up happy,” said Ali.Dempsey was still mad. First he lost to Marciano in result #1, then he got bumped out of the title fight completely, in results #2 and #3.A month later Marciano was dead when the three-seater plane he was travelling in from Chicago to Des Moines crashed into an oak tree in the middle of a cornfield. It was the evening before his 46th birthday.Ali cried when he heard the news Rocky was gone…And that is the real story of the computer fight, and it’s many endings.

How was the computer fight simulation between Muhammad Ali and Rocky Marciano made in 1969?

The film about the computer fight was made like any other fight simulation, with direction on how to do what to who. If Rocky and Ali had not gotten to be fast friends, the whole thing might have ended up as a disaster. Since you had two professional fighters, two of the elite of all time, the scenes were more realistic than those in a movie like “Rocky,” despite it being filmed for pennies. My friend Johnny Walker wrote an excellent answer, so I will just add a little. The entire concept originated in a computer program which took the compiled best heavyweights of history as voted on by 250 boxing experts and boxing writers to create a fantasy tournament. The tournament ended up with a championship fight for the supposed all time champion. The original results, broadcast on Radio only were Dempsey against Marciano in the final, and when so many rejected that as ridiculous, they tried again, and this time had two completely different results, one released in the US after they changed the entire ending, and another result released in the rest of the world, which had a third and different ending.CREDIT PICTURE PININTERESTWhat was the computer fight? The computer fight was the invention by Murray Woroner in 1967, who had the idea of determining the all-time great heavyweight champion of the world by placing boxing champions of different eras in a series of fantasy fights.Woroner sent out a survey to 250 boxing experts and boxing writers to help determine which heavyweights would be used in what would become a fantasy tournament. However, Dempsey complained ferociously, and much of the public noticed not one Black fighter made it to the final. (“No Joe Louis?” said Dempsey)Then the computer recrunched the numbers, and we had another computer fightMuhammad Ali was also not amused by being eliminated by Jim Jeffries by the computer, and sued. (Ali’s statements that they couldn’t beat him in the ring so they had to do it in a fantasy were actually funny)The lawsuit was settled when Woroner offered to pay Ali - who, in exile and unable to fight, desperately needed money - $10,000 whilst also getting his contractual agreement to be in a filmed version of a fantasy fight in which he would fight Marciano. Rocky, always up for 10 grand, agreed as well. Then Ali and Rocky Marciano ended up in the second computer program in a box-offAli and Marciano agreed on the condition that they would also receive a cut of the film's profits. His hair gone, Rocky got Muhammad to agree not to knock off his toupee.Angelo Dundee thought the toupee looked like a furry critter.Ali, who had begun to like and respect Rocky, made a point of trying to avoid knocking off the hairpiece. The two rehearsed their moves, and tried to make sure neither hurt the other. It helped that they grew closer as friends with each passing day.And then, Rocky and Ali became fast friendsTo the astonishment of everyone except Marciano and Ali, a very real friendship was forged outside the ring.
