I think it’s fantastic to live and work entirely home-based. It’s comfortable, it’s economical, and the best thing is: it’s possible. We couldn’t have done this 30 years ago.I am currently on holiday, but it doesn’t feel very different from work. Or shall we say, working almost feels like being on holiday. I like spending many hours in front of my computer anyway, and whether I surf the web for fun or do my actual work makes little difference.The list of advantages is long:I get up at 07:30 as opposed to 06:30 now, because I don’t have to drive to work.I dress for comfort. Haven’t worn my tweed jackets in months.I sit with my legs up, and a cat on my belly.Mileage on the car has gone down to 200 a month instead of 1200 a month. That’ll slow its depreciation and extend its life.I save a good 200 Dollars a month on fuel money.I see my wife all day long, because she also works from home.We eat lunch together now.We cook that lunch ourselves, so our health is benefiting.I can reach my colleagues so much more easily now, because they are all hogging their computers. One ping, and Leif is on Skype for me. No more of that “sorry, on business trip to Norway, will get back to you when I have internet access.”The cats love having us around.By 16:00, we may be in the car, cruising the landscape for fun or going to some second hand farm shop. Not commuting the same old stretch of road we otherwise would.All our shopping is accomplished online, and so is the delivery.Overall, the benefits to our finances and stress levels are evident. I certainly hope to continue living like this forever.

In addition to the (already good) answers already given, I’d like to add two other points:Ever gone into your local Harley-Davidson dealer and see one or more Police Road Kings available for sale used? Usually in very nice condition, and at a fairly bargain price compared to the used bikes around it. That’s quite common, because most (if not all) Police Harley’s are leased, not bought. Your municipality leases the bike, the dealer sets it up and services it (no need for the department motor pool to have to touch them), and periodically at a certain mileage/age point the bikes are traded in for new models. The one police department in my area that uses BMW’s (Henrico County, VA) not only buys theirs, but has to deal with the Fredericksburg dealership, 40 miles away, because Richmond doesn’t have one. And the deputies are militant in their preference for BMW’s.I’ve seen an occasion or two, at the periodic county commissioners/borough council/etc. meeting when it’s time to authorize the purchase of new police motorcycle, to have the local dealer’s entire HOG chapter sitting in the audience at the meeting. Most of whom are probably taxpayers in that jurisdiction. You can imagine how well the proposal of a BMW, Moto Guzzi or Kawasaki police bike is going to go over in that audience. Especially if you’re getting close to the November elections.That’s how important the police market is to Harley-Davidson.

Answer requested.No. On the other hand, the Government has made him into a martyr and handed him some publicity and political mileage on a platter!If only Rahul Gandhi had been allotted a seat somewhere in the first row, most probably people would not even have noticed his presence amidst all the glitz and glitter of the proceedings. But by allotting a seat in the sixth row, the Government has unwittingly made people take notice of him and enabled Rahul to hog some limelight.Or this might have been a clever ruse to provoke Congress and other opposition Parties into stalling or boycotting the crucial Budget session and thus either wriggle out of discussions on ticklish issues and also rush through important legislations without any meaningful debates. If you look closely, you can find the ruling party repeatedly resorting to this ploy just before the commencement of Parliamentary sessions on many previous occasions too.
