I did some blunders during my engineering years. I wish I had someone to guide me in my engineering years. I am going to advice you on all the things which I was never told when I was starting my engineering.The most important point is to maintain a decent aggregate through all the semesters that is 60% or 6.5 CGPA. First two semesters of engineering are the most scoring ones. Try to score as much as you can, it will help you in maintaining your aggregate in upcoming semesters because scoring high in the higher semesters becomes a tad bit difficult.Be interested in the discipline you have enrolled yourselves either it be CS/ME/EEE or any other.If you want to fetch an IT job, teach yourself coding from the very start from whichever branch you belong to.Do as many Mini Projects as you can. It will look very good on your CV.Always be in good books of your teachers and lab assistant. It is very important. They can screw you over if you are not in their good books.Maintain the attendance. You don't want to beg to your faculties in the end for Grace attendance. Trust me.Study very well for internal exams. It will help you a lot in your preparation for your external papers.Don't stay in the company of demotivating people and losers. They will take you down along with themselves.Don't engage yourself in smoking and drinking. It would look cool at the time but trust me it's not.Stop chasing chicks. They are there only to use you and will dump as soon as the college gets over. Many of my friends got dumped when the college got over. Be patient, you will find the one when the time comes.Be fucking responsible. Don't make any stupid mistake that you can't correct.Lastly Enjoy.Peace!

They decide you must be diseased or disordered, and decide to drug you for your own good. You learn to conform.There are schools that welcome hunters like you, but they are few. Hunters aren’t really welcome until your Ph.D. program, where hyperfocused hunter energy — on things that really interest and engage you, things that allow you to work alone— is an advantage. Now you and your hunter brain are admired and supported and rewarded.You don’t grow out of what is so incorrectly called Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.You grow into it.

I would definitely suggest you go for IIIT Gwalior IPG MTech. I was in the same situation an year ago, scanning the JoSSA cutoff and watching uncountable youtube videos. Making it simpler for you. :)Placements 💸I know the most important factor for college selection is its placement stats. The highest package offered for the batch of 2015-20 is 42 LPA by Microsoft. And the average is around 15 LPA. 70/~110 students have received packages above 10 LPA. That’s very much better than other institutes in this rank range. You won’t be burdened with subjects of Civil/Mechanical Engineering in the first year. Labs are well furnished with a 24 hours high-speed LAN Network.We have 100% Ph.D. faculty at IIIT Gwalior. All the professors are highly qualified and most helpful. Some of them are even liberal on the 75% attendance rule. There is no load of studies here. You can easily study for a week before the exams and maintain a good CGPA and in your free time work on your technical skills (Even a week is a lot of time!).Integrated IPG 🎯I see a lot of answers misguiding the students, not to pursue IPG MTech since it is a 5-Year course. I will strongly disagree with them and present you with the correct facts-The placement stats available till date is purely of Integrated Branch. Yes! The highest package and the average package are of Integrated branches only. 4-Year B.Tech. CSE branch has been introduced lately and not a single batch has graduated from that program (I’m sure they will also do great in placements). So, the answers claiming 4-year courses to be always better are a mere deception. Even don’t go for the NIRF ranking of colleges since they take research work and thesis too into account.Another point that might create a doubt in your mind is what if you want to give GATE exam and pursue MTech from better institutes. At IIIT Gwalior, you are eligible to give GATE paper during 4th year and receive a good amount of stipend upon qualifying, in your final year. Isn’t it great? Also, if you want to really complete an M.Tech degree from another institute, you can take admission after completing the 5-Year course too.You can check the final round general cutoff of the respective 4-Year courses at IIIT Jabalpur and IIIT Lucknow.
