How do I get a single status certificate from India?

ok i wanted to apply for single status certificate and every one was wierd with their answers so here is the detail about how i got mine.STEP 1 - you have to get a notary document from any notary shop nearby and add these points,a) you are a citizen of india with passport number and your parents name and your residence addressb)mention that you are single and free to marry either in india or outside the borders and you can mention your date of birth that is necessary too.step 2 - go to the SDM office of your area and get the SDM stamp on the document, dont get tehsildar or executive magistrate or assistant of sdm sign on it because it wont be used or approved by the MEA(ministry of external affairs). it will take your day or 2 because these sdm mostly never at there office and the assistant or employees of government wanna give you a run around so they will just push you away. NOBODY IN THE GOVT OFFICE EVEN KNOW ABOUT THIS SO BE READY TO DEAL WITH UNEDUCATED AND UNETHICAL PEOPLE OF ERA WHO WILL WASTE YOUR TIME JUST FOR A STAMP. if they ask you how could i believe you that you are single then you need to show them a decleration from your parents that you are free to marry ( it is not necessary according to the law.step 3 - Google apostile services nearby and go to the company who does apostile and give them the sdm stamped notary document. this is the easiest one you will get it in a day. as MEA dont take docs personally so you have to go through a company. they cost around 75 rs to get everything done. dont get in the trap of people who say its for 4k or 7k rs coz it just cost 100rs not more than that. when i was outside india i reached out to these companies they said almost 7k-24k to get everything done. as well you can write a letter of authorisation to authorise your brother or family member to do everything for you if you are outside india.new edit - you have to ask from that country marriage administration for how long they consider it valid, in my case it was 3 monthsnew edit - sdm will not sign the affidavit if you put stamp from notary just dont get stamp of notary on it coz sdm have to notarised it

Why do non-French people join the French Foreign Legion, instead of their own country's military?

Why do non-French people join the French Foreign Legion, instead of their own country's military?Heck, let’s explore this beyond the question. If you don’t want to read this, well, move along.Well, I thought aside from the Officers, isn’t the French Foreign Legion intended to be composed of foreigners, hence the name? From their website:What DOES matter to join the Legionto be a man between 17.5 and 39.5 years – read more here:Age limits for joining the French Foreign Legionto have a valid ID (Identity document)ID Card or a Passport for recruits from the European Union (EU)PASSPORT for recruits from all over the worldto have a birth certificate verified copy (translation into English or French languages preferred)– confirmation of the certificate’s copy not older than 6 months while enlisting– you are allowed to enlist in the Legion without the certificate as well, nonetheless, the document will facilitate your engagementto be NOT wanted by Interpol (NO murders, NO drug trafficking…)to be physically fit to serve at all times and in all places around the world, for at least 5 yearsto have BMI between 20 and 30 – read more:Height and weight requirements for joining the French Foreign Legionto be able to write and read in your native languageWhat does NOT matter to join the Legionyour citizenship (if you are a Brazilian, Indian, Russian, Japanese citizen etc…) doesn’t matteryour race origin doesn’t matteryour religion doesn’t matteryour knowledge / ignorance of the French language doesn’t matteryour educational background doesn’t matteryour qualifications doesn’t matteryour social status doesn’t matteryour professional status doesn’t matteryour marriage / marital status or family status doesn’t matteryour previous military or non-military background doesn’t matterWell, obviously if you’re a criminal wanted by Interpol they don’t want you.So back to the question:Why do non-French people join the French Foreign Legion, instead of their own country's military? What sort of limited mind would suggest this is an ‘either-or’ situation?VeteransMany who joined the FFL were former servicemen, and an incredible number of them were combat veterans, including Vietnam Vets from the US, British Vets from different conflicts, Soviet military of all sorts after the collapse, and infamously, Waffen SS. In some cases, they didn’t want to go back, in others they got use to the comradery of fighting men in conflict, as more than one Vietnam Vet found, going back to the mill, driving a cab, or sitting in a college classroom was hard to do after being in combat.Young recruitsWhen I was young and dumb and full of cum, at 18, I’d little interest in joining the military, HOWEVER, I was interested in challenging myself and in my case, it was the Marines. There are others who would do the same. I can imagine young Euros who are less than impressed with their own country’s military because of a different understanding of the role of the military instead going to the FFL.Once we’d gone through Marine Recruit Training and some tough schools like Infantry, there were Marines who found themselves and loved the challenges. Back then, the appeal of joining say contract military in a certain country in Southern Africa or joining the FFL might have been interesting.Interestingly, some Germans, Belgians and other Europeans join the FFL because it is a pure martial organization and I remember in the 1980’s as the changes and political correctness swept NATO organizations, some males preferred to serve in more traditional military formations with the usual values. Not popular, but a reality, there are some who aren’t all bravado. They like war. They like action. They like getting into the shit. Among them are some who were simply made for it. They’d have no other purpose in a society.I love Quora because in answering a question, I usually verify, and when I do I find out something different or new to me or a perception is changed. Often enough, I’ll not answer a question realizing that over the years, the answer itself had changed as more is known. But this is a total aside.Women in the Legion. There was one.ONE.Her name was Susan Mary Gillian Travers, who had left London, her birthplace, and joined the French Expeditionary Forces in 1939, just before the Second World War. Her career in the Legion started as an ambulance driver for the 13th Demi-Brigade in 1940, but her remarkable skill in avoiding landmines, rockets, and bullets earned respect among the men, who called her ‘La Miss’. She was named as a General in May 1945 and by the end of the 1990s she had been given the Medaille Militaire, the Croix de Guerre, and the Legion d’Honneur, some of France’s highest military awards. The Legion has been open to women since 2003. But it’s not happened. Tied in for the reasons above, it’s believed it’d ruin the esprit de corps. Not only a Legionnaire, but a LEGEND.Did she achieve French Foreign Legendaire?

What’s the most brutal case of karma you’ve ever witnessed?

Oh boy…I have to go anon for this one. I married my husband 8 years ago. He had just started working at a new company, and his degree was still shiny and new. I was still studying, and when we married, we made a few decisions including that we were not going to have kids until my degree was finished. In fact he gave me a promise ring…and pledged that he would not let me fall into the trap of having to give up a dream because of domestic life and we would ensure that there would be enough money to allow me to complete my degree. What a joke. Within a week of marriage, my husband came to me and decided that he would not be using protection. (He showed an abusive and basically horrible to me, that's an entirely different story tho'. However, it is the reason why I had no say in getting protection myself as I was not allowed out of my house.)He decided we should start a family immediately ‘to let other people know I was a married woman'.Needless to say, there was never enough money to facilitate my studies. Fast forward a few years and we had 3 kids and he lost his highflying job. Turns out he was a lazy bum that presented himself as a top performer. In a company full of people with degrees, competition is high and someone who's ego is bigger than his mind was put out in the cold real quick.Karma was not done with him though. As luck would have it, I found myself with the opportunity to get into real estate. I was still home enough to keep house but ended up making some serious money.I actually became successful and was given an amazing opportunity when a colleague opened her own start up real estate company and allowed me to run the branch in my city.My hubby would tell me how this is just a passing fad and people do not earn alot of money with degrees. At this time I was not only earning more than he was then (he found a job as a driver), but more than what he earned even at his high flying job.Selling real estate just sort of took and I did amazingly well. I love helping people and I felt fulfilled and happy even though my husband reminded me at every opportunity that he had a degree and that I was not educated. He called my job a sad worthless. Although he was happy to use the money. So he ended up losing the driving job because he was lazy..and two years ago found another job. Do I have to tell you that 2.5 month ago he lost that job? Here's the kicker though..he is now working for me. Yes, he begged me for an opportunity. Sure his arrogant plea came with, how difficult can it be, I mean I see other useless people do it. ‘Not you though, you're good.’ I roll my eyes at that blatant attempt to cost up to me…So now he took a job, doing something he looked down upon, working under the very person he kept at a low level as best he could. My salary is now not just what I earn, but a percentage of what he brings in. And I know that kills him.Karma is a real.Edit: First off, thank you to those sending messages of support. Kind words go along way to lift those in difficult situations. To address some very valid queries:My husband as I mentioned PRETENDED to be a high flyer (Top performer is what I said). He was actually below average when he was compared to others in the same field as him. Yes he worked hard to get his degree. In fact, he has an amazing ability to study and achieve extremely high marks. In the real world, he cannot function. He has become accustomed to learning and being told how much of a genius he is and feels like he needs to prove his worth by flashing his degree. The first and ONLY job he got in his field, was when finished his degree. He was taken in on the merit of his results. They quickly found out, that he is lazy, insubordinate and is full of excuses. This is true of every single job. My husband cannot list one place of employment where he has not left under very bad circumstances. He does not accept being fired or given a final written warning. He will at every single time fight with the boss and leave the company feeling ‘ I sure showed them!'.Why do I live with him? I left. 2 or 3 times. But my husband was diagnosed with bipolar disorder as well as borderline personality. He cannot function in the world. Trust me, I dont feel like it is my job or that I owe him, but he has no place to go. He stayed at a family members house, once. This family member gave him a job as well. He left that place by coming to blow with the guy. His parents live in a 1 bedroom flat. And yes I do think I am trapped. But to be fair not so much by him as I am by my community. I am a Jehovah's Witness. If I divorce for any reason other than his adultery, I am disfellowshipped. I DO NOT agree, but everyone else in my circle does. So I dont just cut him off, I cut off 90% of my circle. But I cut my kids off too. Until you are in this situation, you do not understand what trapped means. For the person who said, you need a license to be an estate agent. You do. You can get your full status certification within a year and a half including logbook and actual work experience. The person that gave me the opportunity, structured my deal such that, I get what I am entitled to as any other agent would get. However further to that, I get a percentage off every deal brought through the company in my province (State). Of course I manage these agents everyday requirements and am basically being paid for performing the management function which she cannot afford to. Like I said it is an AMAZING opportunity, one that came from someone who knows my circumstances and my potential.Just to be clear. I am at no risk from him not performing. If he did not have this job with me, he would more likely spend his hours trying to tear me apart. This way, he feels like he is employed and many hours are spent on the road and looking for clients marketing with the team etc (Even if he sits in the car or visits his friends and lies to me..that's ok). At the end of the day, it's time away from me. If he does bring in money that's great. It adds to our income. But he in no way my only source of income. His performance does NOT affect my buisness or my income. I had nothing to lose.Lastly, I have want to address something about the tone in which I speak about him. You are correct. I speak with resentment and I speak with the anger of someone who has been taken advantage of over and over again, but is not in a position to change it right this minute. Like all of you, I am human. I find myself in a horrible situation. There are many ways to handle it. And leaving him is the best way. But as it is not an option right now, the next is to stay and either live with him and fight him back with anger and vindictiveness knowing that for everything I do, I will get him hitting back twice as hard. That's no way to live. So I chose to live by focusing on improving my life. My skillset. Me. In the meantime I throw no perfectly timed arrows his way, nor do I look for his demise. I do not laugh at his failure. I wont add to the ugliness that already exists. However as a human, I too sometimes need to vent. And when I started to type as anonymous, it all came spilling out. The thought became writing without censorship. I am sorry that I feel that way about anyone on this earth. But only I understand the pain of why it got there. And I rather that be the way I deal with my frustration, rather than giving life to the real hurt that lives inside.Everyone's story is different. Just because you have not heard it before does not make it untrue. And do not ever underestimate what a person in the most unbelievable circumstances can achieve in this world. I wont use the cloak of anonymity to claim I am a fully fledged success. But I'm further from where my circumstances marked a spot for me. And I know where I want to be.
