What is the best advice your father ever gave you?

Loneliness and that I can make it on my own…I. have been living with my mother the past 16 years now. Coming April 03,I will turn 17 and I am glad to have with a single parent because it has taught me a lesson no councillor would have been able to teach me.During my early age as a child, I unlike other children did not enjoy the privileges they got from their parents. Some of the privileges like:Going on a vacation trip with Mom and DadSpending the holidays with family friendsGetting a new shoe on request as soon as possibleGetting to enjoy class throughout the term without being sacked for owing feesEnjoying secondary school life right after junior high schoolHaving the company of Mom and DadSpending time alone with other siblingsThese and many others was I deprived of as a daughter to a single mother.I was always an adult in a child's body. Most of the kids never liked me because I was kind of quiet always and didn't want anyone to decide for me what to do next. I lived my entire life in school even though I wasn't a broader. Mom always scolded me for getting something wrong and would tell I was being naughty…I was a talkative, I would talk from morning till even without feeling tired. I would cause trouble wherever I went because other kids saw me as nothing just like salt dissolved in water simply because I didn't have a father and that I was a poor girl who lived in a shanty area in the industrial site. Yet I was not dull in school. I would catch up easily even after missing class for two weeks. I was ugly and sometimes didn't have food to eat. I remember clearly one time Mom didn't have money and I had to stay hungry for 12hrs and my mother said I was of age 2.I would not even drink water from your house when visit and stay from morning till evening because if I did Mom would beat me up, I wandered how she got know I had eaten from another person's home… She always said a friend's house is not your home your home is where you stay with me and you have peace sleeping at night knowing that I will stay up at night to pray for you…My mates in school would mock me just because I didn't have father and this behavior of theirs was constant till I left Junior high school after graduation.I dropped out of school when I was in form one that is grade 7, I stayed at home for 2 months and later received a scholarship from school. I won awards for my school during inter school's competition in spelling bee challenges, sporting activities like sack race, lime and spoon, thread and needle, musical chairs, football, tag of war or tag of peace, eating competition and many others. I was a house leader in my school since we were divided in to four houses. I won a number of second place for my house as well.I went on to compete being the heads of prefects in junior high school which I won and was the head girl's prefect from grade 8–9.In grade nine, we had to register for our final national exams to graduate and leave for campus placement in the secondary school (grade 10–12). The fee for registration and camping for one month two weeks was 100$.I was the first to pay because when the date was approaching, my Mom sold her last piece of cloth and handed me the money she got to pay for my registration.I completed Junior high school on 30th June 2015.. Hopefully I passed and got the chance to further my education in the Senior high school but there was no money and so I had to stay at home for two years.Later in 2017, I joined a private institution to further my secondary education by working to pay for my fees and receiving support from my boss. All this while my mates made fun of me…You might wander why I'm writing this long story which doesn't speak any advice from my Dad, it's simply because his advice to me was the loneliness I have been feeling all this while and it has taught me that not everything in life can be bought with money and that I can fight on my own in an honest way to make it in life.He also taught me that the beauty of life is by appreciating the little you have and embracing the future for more.He has made me who I am today and I'm proud to be myself. I know I need to work a little bit more to attain my biggest goals in life…He has also taught me the value of having and trusting God in life…I love my father very much even though he never cares for me.A brief history about my parent is that my mother is still the wife of my Dad though he is married to other women. He is filthy rich and is paying close to 1000$ of fees for my siblings. I'm the only girl in the mist of 9 boys with a toddler of a girl…My dream is to be the best and make my father proud of having a child like me…Here is a photo of me now just so sad I don't have one of me when I was a bit younger… Still young though.
