They weigh around 6 to 8 Kilos.They are protected under the Wildlife act of India due to their extensive hunting for flesh and the feathers.Indian Vulture:Around 9 species of Vultures are found in India. These are widely found near cultivation and wooded areas.They feed mainly on animal carcasses. They are enlisted as endangered by the IUCN. There has a considerable dip int heir population due to Diclofenac poisoning; the drug was used in India as veterinary medicine for joint pain relief in cattle and pets. Feeding on such carcasses has caused the poisoning in Vultures as Vultures are not able to synthesize the drug. They once used to live all around the middle east across India, but due to extensive deforestation, poaching and hunting, they are now enlisted a vulnerable species by the IUCN. There is a considerable increase in the Lion population since 2010. As per survey, there are over 600 lions and are expected to see a rise by 2020. The forest department had formed a team of 54 members to monitor and guard the lions for any disease or intrusion.The females are the primary hunters among the lions. They kill deers like Chital, sambar, nilgai, cattle, buffalo or wild boar.They are smaller than the African lions, grow up to a height of 100 to 115 cm and weight around 150 to 190 kilos.Sangai: Brow Antlered deerThe Sangai deer is only found in the state of Manipur India. They are also called the dancing deers. They feed on grass, fruits, leaves, etc. They are very fast runners, having clocked around 70–80 km/hr. When frightened, these animals have a habit of lying flat against a branch or a trunk rather than escape.Dwarf Indian Mudskippers : Periophthalmus novemradiatusThey are found across the coastal areas of India and along mangrove swamps towards the edge of the waters. They come out to forage during the high tidal periods.Mudskippers are adapted in a way to stay out of water, holding water in their mouth and breathe through the gills for a very long period of time. They have their eyes on the top of their head, making it easier for them to locate prey from afar. They have leg like formations which make it possible for them to crawl on mud. They feed on nuts, berries, vegetables and fruits.Lion-tailed Macaque or Wanderoo:They are widely found across the western ghats of South India. They are very aggressive beings and have Silver white mane and hairless face; they are black in color. They dwell mostly in moist areas like rain forests. They primarily feed on fruits, vegetables, berries, insects and small vertebrates. Silent Valley in Kerala has the most population of the wanderoo as it is one of the most undisturbed animal habitats. They are also preserved in Sirsi-Honnavara, Karnataka and a promising population is emerging in Kalakkad Tiger Reserve in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. Due to the diligent Wildlife Conservation efforts, the lion-tailed Macaques have made out of the list of Endangered primates.Snow Leopard:Snow Leopards though endangered [listed in the IUCN Red List of endagered species] can be seen around the northern mountainous regions of the Indian peninsula, Himalayas, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Uttarakhand and neighbouring Asian mountain regions of Nepal, Afghanistan, Siberia, China etc. As per records there are around 470 snow leopards in India.They are believed to be the top predators in the tough terrain. MARKHORSCIENTIFIC NAME - CAPRA FALCONERI CASHMIRIENSISFAMILY- BOVIDAESTATUS - CRITICALLY ENDANGEREDHABITAT- Pine forest, birch forest , in jammu and Kashmir it can be seen in Banihal, pirpanjal range, Hirpora , limber, lachipora, Tarakutti.The magnificent spiral horned Markhor is the largest member of the goat family.The word Markhor is derived from persian language which means snake eater. IBEXSCIENTIFIC NAME - CAPRA IBEXFAMILY- BOVIDAESTATUS- ENDANGEREDHABITAT- This species is distributed along steep crags, above the tree line, near the elevation ranging from 3000- 5300 m.It is a subspecies of wild mountain goat. The animal is 80-100 cm tall and weight around 60 kgs.They have a predilection for rugged terrain as an anti-predator strategies.They can live upto 20 years. It is medium sized bear, this is omnivores but can be very aggressive.It is 105- 190 cm in lenght and 70- 100 cm tall . Male weigh around 200kgs and female upto 125kg . They are dirunal and can climb trees.10. COMMON LEOPARDSCIENTIFIC NAME - PANTHERA PARDUSFAMILY - FELIDAEIUNC STAUTUS - EndangeredHabitat- plains, deciduous and evergreen forests, scurbs, jungle and fringes of human habitation. In j n k it can be seen in all protected areas,.The males are about 60-70 tall and 90-196 in length. The weight of males are 37 to 90 kg and females are a round 28 to 60 kg.Leopard belongs to big cat and are top predator of the region.They are hunted illegally for their body parts and smuggled for their body parts in the black market for medicinal purposes.Leopards are shy but aggressive animals. SNOW LEOPARDSCIENTIFIC NAME- UNCIA UNCIAFAMILY- FELIDAEIUNC STATUS - ENDANGEREDHABITAT- alpine steppes, grasslands, scrubs above tree line, sub-alpine, Elevation ranging from 3000- 4500m ,rocky terrain area. It is best known for living in the cold mountainous environment.Their habitat ranges from 12 to 39sq km. Sq. They are solitary animals.This species is a carnivore and hunt Himalayan blue sheep, Argail, Markhor, Wild goat, Chiru and other animals.They are ambush hunters, in India there are only 516-524 population of snow leopard.It's fur is whitish to greyish with black spots on heads and necks.The shoulder height of this species is 56 cms and head to body length is around 75- to 150 cms. More than a million working Hispanic people voluntarily returned to Mexico when the US economy was deliberately destabilized by the Republicans ending in the financial collapse of 2008.At the same time, centuries of bad and racist US foreign policy in the Western Hemisphere caused the rising migration of Hispanic families from other countries into the United States. This will hopefully be accomplished in November 2020.The United States government needs to account for hundreds of children who were “lost’ after separation and detention by US immigration authorities during the Trump administration. Children should not be separated from their families and then “lost” simply because of the racial animosity of angry old white men with undeserved power.The United States must implement an authentic and unbiased government policy for humane treatment of refugees, timely processing of asylum applications, and fair judgement of asylum claims without prejudice. This policy must become part of all interactions of the US immigration system.
