PDF Editor FAQ

Why are biotech stocks considered to be some of the most unpredictable stocks?

I’ve been investing in biotech companies for over half a decade so let’s start by taking a look at what a typical small or mid cap biotech company looks like…As you can see… Their walking on a thin rope with no safety harness. Ok this is just a dude but many biotech companies resemble this. They have no safety harness, meaning no revenue generating product on the market, just a company (stock) valuation based purely upon future revenue potential. And with the drop of a pin (or usually sub par drug data, which is common) the potential future revenue could go from millions (or billions if it’s a blockbuster) to about $0.In order for these companies to market and sell their products in the US they need to have them approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which consists of testing through three phases (Phase I, II, and III). The goal of this is to make sure the drug works and is safe. These tests are called clinical trials and cost A LOT of money. So not only do these companies not have a revenue generating product, they also are burning through their cash reserve at crazy rates, all while going through very risky clinical trials. However, this goes along with the risk/reward correlation:Generally, the higher the risk the higher the potential reward. Biotech companies tend to offer higher potential rewards if you can pick winners. If a drug shows good efficacy and safety, it has the potential to generate millions or billions of dollars for the company. This could mean huge jumps in company value, and therefore stock price, which is amazing for shareholders. As I mentioned, I’ve been investing in biotech companies for over half a decade and have learned a lot the hard way.. but also have had my fair share of winners and it’s a beautiful thing. If you’re interested in getting started investing in biotech stocks check out this video series that goes over the basics.Hope that helped a bit, tried to keep it short and sweet.

How do I evaluate a stock?

Below is the no BS answer.Step1:First things first. You will need to get data about stocks. There are “n” number of financial websites which have that information for free.My suggestion -> screener.inIt contains an exhaustive amount of information on all the stocks listed on the NSE and BSE.Step 2:Now that you have the data, what should you look for? Below are the key numbers that you should be looking for:1. Price to Earnings ratio (PE) along with Industry PE ratio : What is the price that people are willing to pay in order to earn 1 rupee of profit on this stock? That is what is called the PE ratio. An undervalued stock will have its PE ratio less than that of the industry. You should ideally be looking for stocks that have PE ratios either less than or equal to that of the industry. Beware of the stocks whose PE ratio is unusually high, because they might be overvalued.2. PEG Ratio: This is PE ratio divided by the company’s future growth prospects. A company which is fairly valued will have its PEG ratio equal to 1. Ideally you should be looking for companies with PEG ratio <= 1.3. Price to Book ratio (PB): If the company were to close today, what value will its 1 share be worth? That is what is called book value. A PB ratio of 2 means that the company is trading at twice its book value. Generally speaking, most of the stocks trade above their book value. Beware of stocks that trade really low or really high compared to their book value. As is the case with PE ratio, PB ratio should be compared with other companies in the same sector.4. Return on Equity (ROE): This is the annualised percentage of return that the company provides on its shares. A good way is to filter out companies whose ROE is >= 12%. You should also see the historical ROE of the company. If the ROE is consistently increasing from the past 3,5,7 years, then the stock is good.5. Operating Profit Margin (OPM): The OPM of the stock should ideally be at par with its peers in the same industry. This is a good indicator of the company’s profitability along with its brand strength in the market. Brands often command a premium in the market for the same quality of goods as compared to their peers.6. Inventory Turnover ratio: This number tells you how many times the inventory of the company is renewed every year. This should be seen along with OPM since a company with a higher OPM may have a less inventory turnover ratio and vice versa. Also, note that this ratio can only be used for companies that sell a physical product, such as retail companies like ITC, Dabur, etc. This ratio should be greater than 1.7. Debt to Equity Ratio: All big companies have to take debt for their expansion, however, a good company will have less amount of debt when compared to its total equity. In layman’s terms, this ratio should be less than 1.8. Quick Ratio: It tells you about the liquidity of the company and how much cash does the company have in hand. This ratio should be greater than 1.9. Interest Coverage ratio: This number will tell you about the company’s capability to pay interest on the loans that it has taken. This number should be greater than 1.10. Promoter holding: The % of shares that the promoters of the company hold. It should ideally be between 48–70 %. Anything higher or lower than that is a red flag. Also if the company’s promoters have been increasing their %, it is seen as a good indicator. Beware of the stocks where the promoter has decreased his/her share.11. Pledged promoter holding: The % of shares that the promoter has offered as collateral in order to procure loans. This should ideally be 0.12. Piotroski score: This is a number between 1 to 9. The higher the number, better the stock. The calculations behind it are way too complex to put here.Apart from the above numbers, a good thing to look at is the DVM score. It stands for Durability, Valuation and Momentum of the company. It is a short-term indicator, but it is good to look at in order to get an idea of the company’s current standing in the market. My suggestion would be to refer to this site to get this information for free: trendlyne. You can also get other detailed level information on the stock from this site.Lastly, you should look the charts of the stock which will give you a good idea of the price movement. I would suggest this site tradingview which is in my opinion the best charting website out there. You can use the charts to know the entry and exit points for that stock.Happy Investing :)

They bridge the generations from hip youth culture forging new expressions of Americana to their grandparents who are the custodians of great worldwide traditions. These markets are largely excluded from today’s commercial broadcasters. Ludwig Enterprises is helping to move analogue radio into the digital age, harmonizing all ages and cultures as they add to America’s rich treasure of diversity.Ludwig Enterprises, Inc. is launching the first nationwide World radio network in the U.S. that really is for US! The One™ radio is bringing HD quality digital audio to a vast audience of diverse ages and origins, whose interests go unsatisfied by today’s domestic programming. The One™ radio is reaching out to a $1.5 trillion marketplace, and an audience which is almost completely ignored. The segment of listeners born abroad is over 30 million alone, which invites new for exciting programming and a new frontier for advertisers. Many listeners miss the classic the radio programs of the past, and just as radio played a vital role as a touchtone for American culture throughout the last century, so to The One™ radio is designed to be a centerpiece around which other cultures can unify and feel as much at home in the United States as they did in the countries they came from.It is estimated that 1 in 5 Americans are 55 and over. That means 70 million potential listeners are not able to enjoy the programming they love due to the homogenized formats that even satellite and internet radio offer. As listeners enter their golden years, radio plays an ever increasing role in ones window to the world and an important link to news and entertainment, especially if other areas of their lives become more limited. The One™ radio’s programming is designed to serve this, ever growing, abundant marketplace as well as providing youth culture with a vital link to its heritage.Ludwig Enterprises, Inc.[4] has developed a patented new radio that receives signals from the new Digital Television format (ATSC also known as HD-TV). The One™ radio offers 50 channels of diverse, HD quality, digital programming…Filipino, Pakistani, Hebrew, Chinese, Greek, Russian and many more, in addition to great English programming, old time radio shows, news 24 hours a day, audio books, educational and religious programming, as well as music ranging from Techno to Classical. The One™ radio receiver, developed by Ludwig Enterprises, Inc., is mobile, handheld and compatible with most docking stations, for your home, in the car or on the go.The One™ radio utilizes social networking capabilities to link advertisers and listeners via a unique technology that lets the advertiser know exact demographic / statistical data within 96 hours of playing a commercial in each of Ludwig’s 50 primarily markets, offering advertisers virtually real-time feedback for maximum market penetration. The privacy of the listener is protected as well because the regional data collected is not specific to the individual.INTELLECTUAL PROPERTYThe One™ radio’s unique patented technology utilizes a “carousel” that interleaves information streams in a repeating pattern for inclusion into a digital video broadcast (Digital TV: also known as HD TV), allowing Ludwig’s data carousel to deliver multiple dynamic digital audio programs, not just one.COMPETITIONThe nearest competitor to The One™ radio is Sirius/XM radio. There is very little overlap in our target audience since The One™ radio is reaching out to new markets that they do not serve, catering to expanding multicultural, 55 plus and emerging youth markets, with an emphasis on family unity. For legal reasons The One™ radio, like Sirius/XM, is considered a subscription based service. The similarities STOP there. Unlike Sirius/XM Ludwig does not charge a monthly fee. A small one-time subscription fee is charged upon activation and the unit itself is included free of charge. This is the benefit of utilizing existing terrestrial data transmission infrastructure rather than more costly satellite transmission, as well as Ludwig’s main source of revenue being derived from advertising and the sale of syndication time.”None of the above information is currently accurate, currently relevant or appropriate to the company.[5]The following information is from a press release which appears to have been syndicated on the financial news networks on December 19,2019:Ludwig Enterprises Inc., Acquires Direct Mortgage Investors Inc.[6]SPARKS, NV / ACCESSWIRE / December 19, 2019 / Ludwig Enterprises Inc., (OTC PINK:LUDG) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the positive consolidation efforts of Direct Mortgage Investors Inc.
